The Cost of Hiding

For nearly three decades, Tony Addison was a master of disguise. Born with a physical difference - missing fingers and a thumb - he developed a set of "1992 Ninja Turtle skills" to navigate the corporate world. Whether it was hiding his hand behind invisible potted plants at networking events or managing his own embarrassment so neurotypical leaders wouldn't feel awkward, Tony was highly successful at fitting in.

But fitting in was exhausting. He was paying the Inauthenticity Tax - spending 50% of his cognitive brainpower managing everyone else's comfort instead of focusing on his own potential. He was running himself into the ground, mistaking relentless presenteeism for dedication.

The Catalyst: Playing Life on "Boss Level"

The turning point wasn't a corporate burnout; it was a profound realisation as a father. Tony’s son, Noah, is autistic and has ADHD. Tony realised that if he spent his entire career masking just to fit into a rigid corporate box, he was silently giving Noah permission to hide his own neurological differences, too.

He refused to let his son grow up in a world where he had to mask his true self to be successful. He refused to let Noah play life on "Ultimate Boss Level" without a safety net.

Abolishing the Inauthenticity Tax

Tony shifted his entire operating system. He stepped away from traditional, compliance-driven corporate consulting to focus on what actually drives human capacity: Biological Safety.

As the creator of the S.T.E.P. Framework™, Tony now partners with forward-thinking organisations, Executive Sponsors, and Disability & Neurodiversity ERGs. He doesn't just deliver motivational speeches; he provides "Organisational Exposure Therapy." By blending behavioural science, positive psychology, and his own lived experience, Tony equips leaders and diverse talent with the shared language they need to set biological boundaries, optimise their energy, and turn psychological safety from a buzzword into a daily practice.

Tony believes that we have to stop trying to fix ourselves to fit broken systems, and start building environments that catch us. Because when the mask drops, the real performance begins.

When I'm not working...

I continuously like to challenge myself, whether that’s via Sky Diving, Flying a Helicopter, or doing Stand-up Comedy!
